Movado is a brand close to my heart. Their lineup of models is truly impressive, and it’s no wonder they are a rising star in the watch collecting world. This Curviplan is one of the few examples out there and a very rare piece to acquire.
The case has a highly unique design, with multiple breaks along the lugs and edges, accompanied by a bubble shaped original crystal. The two-tone sector dial beautifully carries the age of the watch, while the entire timepiece has aged evenly and is ready to live on for many more decades.
As a watchmaker, I can’t emphasize Movado’s craftsmanship enough. Every time I look at the movement, I’m amazed by its simplicity, yet when you zoom in on the details, you see the subtle marks that truly set a watchmaker apart. Unique shaped screws, smoothly finished bridges, well executed gears, jewels set in chatons, and my personal favorite with Movado: the typography. These details are what make a watch brand high-quality and exceptional in the market.
This timepiece is a true feast for both collectors’ and watchmakers’ eyes, and a rare example available to add to your collection.
