Yema is an amazing French brand with a rich racing pedigree — both on wheels and on water. Established in 1948, it’s a well-known name among watch enthusiasts, and I can honestly say I love what they’ve done in the past — and what they continue to do today.
Let me present to you this absolutely cool Yema Big Eye Chronograph. The case shape perfectly captures the spirit of 1970s chronographs, complete with a sleek black aluminum bezel. What I like most is the dial — a beautiful blend of color, texture, and patina. It has everything: large subdials, raised indexes surrounded by lume dots, and a wonderfully aged porous blue dial that’s not only rare but complemented by equally aged hands and a striking orange chronograph hand that really pops.
The timepiece is powered by the legendary Valjoux 7733, the workhorse of vintage chronographs and the predecessor to my favorite modern chronograph family — the 775X series.
This watch embodies the true spirit of 1970s sports design and offers incredible value for the money. It’s also paired with a period-correct French ZRC bracelet, making for an absolutely authentic vintage combo.
